5. Unique course structure

The UK also offers unique course structures. One such course structure is Sandwich Courses. This course is prevalent in undergraduate courses. A usual UG course is for 3 years but a Sandwich course is for 4 years. The student studies for the first 2 years and in the 3rd year, the student takes up an internship or employment. The student then returns in the 4th year and completes the course. The employment in the 3rd year is usually unpaid, only for experience but may differ among companies.

At the postgraduate level, there are Placement year courses. Master's programs usually last for a year but in this course structure, they last for 2 years with the first year being study and the second being employment or internships. In some cases, as most of these jobs are unpaid, in form of compensation, the company takes care of the individual's stay or living expenses. These placements are unpaid as well but the student may be compensated in other forms like overall course 1-year study and 1-year work (paid low stipend) in most cases instead of stipend, the company takes care of housing amenities, living expenses.

6. Financial aid assistance

To help students on their overseas education journey, with a wide range of scholarships UK offers a number of options for financial aid. The eligibility for scholarships differs from university to university and has different criteria for being awarded. Apart from academic scholarships, UK universities also offer fee waivers, Tuition fee grants and bursaries to assist students.
