Office of Undergraduate Admission offers academic awards of between $2,000 and $17,000 to incoming freshman and transfer students that qualify; awards are available only to students who are completing their first bachelor’s degree. These awards are based solely on a student’s prior academic performance, not on the basis of financial need. New freshman are evaluated based on their cumulative high school grade point average and their standardized test scores. Transfer students are awarded based on their cumulative college grade point average.
These awards are renewable for the entirety of the student’s undergraduate career, provided the student maintains full-time enrollment status (12 or more credits per semester) and a satisfactory level of academic progress. Student’s receiving the Incentive Grant are required to maintain a grade point average of at least 2.00; Academic Grant recipients must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average; and Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum grade point average of at least 3.00. If a student’s cumulative grade point average falls below the specified minimum, the grant may be reduced or cancelled. Students will be granted an opportunity to appeal prior to any reduction or cancellation.
