The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is a university in the CBD of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The university was founded in its current form in 1981, although its origins trace back to the 1870s. It is part of the Australia Technology Network of universities and has the fifth largest enrolment in Sydney.
The present-day University of Technology originates from the Sydney Mechanics School Of Arts (the oldest continuously running Mechanics' Institute in Australia). In the 1870s, the SMSA formed the Workingman's College which was later taken over by the NSW government to form, in 1878, the Sydney technical college. In 1969, part of the Sydney Technical College became the New South Wales Institute of Technology (NSWIT). The University Is Affiliated by Australian technology Network, association of Commonwealth Universities, ASAIHL.

The university of Technology Sydney (UTS) Has 4 major Campuses in City. Following are the campus details.
A. Haymarket Campus -Quay St, Ultimo Road and Darling Drive, City.
B. Broadway Campus -Broadway, Harris St, and Thomas St, City.
C. Chippendale Campus -Black friars st , City
D. Kuring Gai Campus (Will Close in 2016) -Etan road, Lingfield.
- The UTS Hockey club was established in 1982 by five UTS students, and is now the largest "home grown" sporting club at UTS with over 200 members, mostly students and alumni.
- UTS have a famous rowing club located at Haber field.
- The Sydney Cricket Club was formed in 2007 as a merger between the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust And the UTS Balmain Cricket Club .The Club Is Open to students and Competes in the Sydney Grade Competition.
Similarly the University offers many Sports Facilities such as Rugby Team, Basket Ball association and Several other Facilities.
