Fontbonne University is a co-ed liberal arts Catholica private institution that was founded in 1923, with approximately 3,000 students (including 120+ international students from 25+ countries). Its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 16 acres. In the heart of St. Louis, Fontbonne University, founded as a women's only college, takes its name from Mother St. John Fontbonne.It became co-educational in the 1970s. Students come from a diverse mix of geographic, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Fontbonne University's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities (Midwest), 85.It is a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Fontbonne is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Fontbonne University offers both undergraduate and master's degree programs. Service programs were expanded to areas such as dietetics, special education, communication disorders and deaf education.
