LIU Brooklyn is a private institution of higher education located in Brooklyn, New York City, United States. Established in 1926, Long Island University's mission is "to open the doors of the city and the world to men and women of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, who wish to achieve the satisfaction of the educated life and to serve the public good and to awaken, enlighten and expand the minds of its students." Transportation
Situated at the intersection of Flatbush and DeKalb Avenues, the campus is served by several New York City subway lines in front of campus, and is three blocks from Atlantic Terminal, a transportation hub with additional train options including the Long Island Rail Road.

Undergraduate students are housed at 2 residence halls on campus, designed to offer students several common areas to support community living, including lounges on the lobby floor. One lounge at Conolly Hall even has a 52-inch TV screen, two regulation ping pong tables, and a pool table. Cafeterias are also located either on the premises or nearby. Laundry rooms are open 24/7, as are study lounges with Internet access. The lobby floor also houses a mailroom for student packages and letters.
Unique to LIU Brooklyn, graduate students can opt for on-campus apartment accommodation (not included in the fees), at 490 Fulton Street.
