Overview
The University of Wisconsin-Stout (UW-Stout or Stout) is a member campus of the University of Wisconsin System. The school was founded in 1891 is a state university,in Menomonie, Wisconsin. It is named in honor of its founder, lumber magnate James Huff Stout, and is one of two universities in the UW System not named for the city in which it is located.UW-Stout consists of eight Colleges and Schools, offering 44 undergraduate and 20 graduate majors, as well as 52 minors. In March 2007, UW-Stout was designated "Wisconsin's Polytechnic University" by the UW System Board of Regents.In 2010, the university became one of the first universities to ban tobacco use. It is currently the only tobacco-free university in Wisconsin. 4% International Students from 51 Nations.

At UW-Stout, you'll find a variety of "convenient" living environments where connecting with other students from around the state and from around the world happens quickly.
Residents can look forward to utilizing the large basement kitchen and meeting rooms for connecting, socializing and learning right down the stairs or elevator.UW-Stout is made up of two parts: a main campus and north campus, which is mostly residence halls and dining and health facilities. The campus is 124 acres (50 ha) with 25 major academic and administrative buildings, 20 residence halls, and 245 laboratories.
