Devry Institute of Technology

DeVry's origins trace back to 1931, when Dr. Herman DeVry established DeForest Training School in Chicago to prepare students for technical work in electronics, motion pictures, radio and, in later years, television. The school's name was changed to DeVry Technical Institute in 1953, which then became DeVry Institute of Technology in 1968. Over time, the DeVry system expanded its curricula and degree offerings and also underwent expansion. In 1987, DeVry merged with Keller Graduate School of Management and in February 2002, became known as DeVry University in most places. Today, DeVry operates 23 campuses across the United States and Canada. 21 of them are known as DeVry University, but two of them (in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and New York) continue to operate under the name of DeVry Institute of Technology.

DeVry Calgary opened in 1981 and moved to its current site in summer 1998. The campus originally offered only a Computer Information Systems curriculum, but program offerings have expanded to include an array of technology-based curricula. The campus, located east of downtown, near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Barlow Trail, is easily accessed from the Franklin C-Train station. In addition, DeVry Calgary offers online learning –providing the flexibility students need to complete their education at the most convenient time and place.

A leader in electronics and technology-based business education for more than 75 years, DeVry offers career-oriented bachelor's degree programs that prepare you for a successful future in an exciting, growing technology or business field. DeVry Calgary's multicultural atmosphere, interactive curriculum, small class sizes, global perspective from industry leaders around the world and successful graduates worldwide make the school an excellent choice for international students.

The Computer Engineering Technology (CET), Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) and Electronic Systems Technology (EST) programs are accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB). CTAB is a standing committee of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists (CCTT). The board was created by CCTT in 1982 to promote excellence in technical education across Canada by furthering the standards used to certify individual technicians and technologists and by the National Accreditation Program, which is used to evaluate applied science and engineering technology programs.

The Government of Alberta has granted DeVry Calgary approval to award the following baccalaureate degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology.

Since 1975,Devry University has graduated 237957 undergraduate college.
