    Fontbonne University is a co-ed liberal arts Catholica private institution that was founded in 1923, with approximately 3,000 students (including 120+ international students from 25+ countries). Its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 16 acres. In the heart of St. Louis, Fontbonne University, founded as a women's only college, takes its name from Mother St. John Fontbonne.It became co-educational in the 1970s. Students come from a diverse mix of geographic, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Fontbonne University's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities (Midwest), 85.It is a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Fontbonne is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Fontbonne University offers both undergraduate and master's degree programs. Service programs were expanded to areas such as dietetics, special education, communication disorders and deaf education. Fontbonne University is a vital institution where quality education and caring go hand-in-hand and where some 2,900 students are part of the "Fontbonne Family."At Fontbonne University, our goal is not only to impart knowledge but also to increase understanding.

Scholarships & Financial Aid for Indian Students

International students must show financial support for tuition and living expenses costs for one year of study in the form of an original bank statement no older than 120 days, and corresponding letter of financial guarantee if the student is not the account holder or sponsor. All documents must be original and in English.


Undergraduate Scholarships

Fontbonne University offers merit-based scholarships to a number of academically talented undergraduate (bachelor's degree) international applicants. All scholarships are awarded to students who hold non-immigrant, F-1 student visas. The award amount is applied to the student's account in two equal installments in the fall and spring semesters and goes toward reducing tuition charges. Awards are renewable each year, but students must maintain the minimum grade point average stated on the award contract as well as F-1 visa status.

*SAT score is the combined total of the reading + math scores.

International Catholic High School Scholarship - $2,000 per year
Students eligible for this scholarship must be attending a Catholic High School in their home country and enrolling as a first-time freshman at Fontbonne University. The non-merit based, renewable scholarship is automatically awarded to all eligible students. Students must maintain at 3.0 GPA at Fontbonne University for automatic renewal and is renewable for up to 8 semesters. Proof of attendance at a Catholic high school is required and must be validated by the Office of International Affairs. Requirements: 3.0 GPA(on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent; graduate of a Catholic High School; first-time freshman. 


International Transfer Scholarship 
Students eligible for this scholarship must meet the following criteria: Transfer from a four-year university or community college (or equivalent), 65 TOEFL (5.5 IELTS). This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 semesters, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA at Fontbonne University. Scholarship awards may only be applied to fall and spring semesters. The student must also maintain full time academic status (a minimum of 12 academic credits) in fall and spring semesters.
