Scholarships & Financial Aid for Indian Students

First Year Student Scholarships

Scholarships up to $22,000 to all newly admitted students, regardless of nationality, are considered for academic/merit scholarships for which they are eligible. In general, admitted students awarded scholarships have excellent academic credentials and exhibit exceptional leadership skills. 

Students in the top 10 to 15 percent of AU's admitted students are eligible.


First-Year (Freshman) Merit Awards

These are awarded based on merit and are automatically evaluated based on the student’s application.

Some students may also be eligible for these athletic scholarships.


AU Grant

American University (AU) grants are offered to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. Grants may be offered in addition to an AU scholarship. 

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant

Up to $4000 for students who must, after graduation, teach in a school that serves students from low-income families for four years.
