to University of Canterbury undergraduate programmes. Our unique
Diploma in University Studies (DipUS) are unlike any other in New
Zealand.
These DipUS correspond to the University of Canterbury’s first-year
bachelor’s degree curriculum. Upon successful completion, students
seamlessly progress to the second year of their degree.

pre-university Foundations Studies Certificate and an exciting new

The University of Canterbury International College (UCIC) offers a tiered scholarship structure for international students, beginning with the automatically assessed Global Student Award (typically $4,000 off tuition) for all academically qualified students enrolling in the Certificate in Foundation Studies or Diploma in University Studies (UTP) programs. Additionally, UCIC offers merit-based scholarships such as the Academic Merit Scholarship and the Future Leadership Scholarship (typically $2,000 each), awarded based on performance while studying at the college. Students can apply for a job search visa after 3 months of completing the program. Students are allowed to work part-time for 20 hours per week. The wages range from NZ$18-NZ$22 per hour. Students can choose to work in restaurants, farms, malls and as marketing executives.
