    As one of the largest community college districts in the United States, Foothill-De Anza provides credit classes for about 64,000 students a year. The colleges are active members of the League for Innovation in the Community College, a national consortium of leading two-year institutions.

    De Anza College: Founded in 1967,  De Anza College occupies a 112-acre site in Cupertino in the heart of Silicon Valley. Cupertino is also home to Apple, Symantec, Sun, Hewlett-Packard, and many other high-technology firms. It provides outstanding general education and vocational courses as well as interdisciplinary studies, community service opportunities, on-the-job-training, internships, collaborative programs with businesses and industries.

    Nestled near the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the college was named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza. The college is one of the largest, single-campus community colleges in the country with a fall enrollment averaging 25,000 students.

    Location & Facilities

    Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the district serves the communities of Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale and portions of San Jose.

    Like most community colleges, Foothill does not have a dormitory on campus and does not directly arrange housing for students.

    However, the  office provides informational resources and assistance to help you find the most comfortable housing option for you.

    Most of the international students choose to stay in private apartment complexes nearby or with American host families through its homestay program. Rental Housing System is provided as a service to our community by Foothill College Student Services for the purpose of listing potential housing opportunities for our students.

    De Anza college is located 45 miles south of San Francisco and 6 miles from San jose
