Manchester Metropolitan University, 'The University for World-Class Professionals', is part of the largest higher education campus in the UK and one of the most extensive education centres in Europe.

MMU was granted university status in 1992 but has departments which date back to the 19th Century. To ensure our place as a world-class university a 300+ pounds investment programme is underway to strengthen the student experience with emphasis on high-quality, cutting edge teaching facilities and course provision.

The university takes pride in the strong links it has established with business and industry which help students understand and experience the realities of the modern working world. MMU is a specialist in sandwich programmes which allow students to undertake a period of work placement between periods of academic study, and many programmes are accredited by professional bodies and associations.

MMU is one of the largest providers of science, engineering and technology education the country. In addition, the University is an international leader in clothing design and technology, home to the UK's second largest business school, and a UK leader in art and design, law, sports science, and the health and social work professions.

The university offers over 1000 courses and qualifications, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, research for Masters and PhDs, professional courses, HNDs and foundation degrees.

Location & Facilities

The central Manchester campus is situated close to Manchester's city centre and we have a second campus in Cheshire, 35 miles (56 km) from Manchester.

The University's Manchester campus is situated close to Manchester's city centre and the routes most commonly travelled by students are well served by public transport. There's a free hop-on/hop- off city centre shuttle service that covers the main city centre areas, linking the main city centre railway stations, main NCP car parks and many bus and Metrolink tram stops.

Cheshire

The Cheshire campus at Crewe is signposted from Junction 16 of the M6 motorway and the campus is a 5-minute walk away from the town's mainline railways station. The area is also well served by public transport and mainline trains for traveling further field.

Vice-Chancellor Scholarships (Non-EU Students only)

Manchester Met is making a limited number of Vice-Chancellor scholarships available, each to the value of 5,000* pounds. These scholarships are open to international students who enroll on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme

You can apply for an award if you

Are an international student (classified as 'overseas' for tuition fee purposes)
And have been offered a place on a taught course starting in September 2017 or January 2018
And are not currently registered on a course at Manchester Metropolitan University
