New Zealand Tertiary College was founded in Auckland in 1982 by Glennie Oborn. The College was originally named Kindercare Early Childhood Teachers College. Due to demand for its early childhood qualifications from teachers outside of Kindercare, in 1997 it was renamed the more generic 'New Zealand Tertiary College
NZTC has been instrumental in achieving New Zealand government accreditation for qualifications in early childhood education. It has also played a significant part in gaining professional status for early childhood teachers in New Zealand
In 2009, NZTC started offering its Education qualifications to students based in India. All programs are delivered via NZTC Online
In 2010, we have been working with local education agents and preparing to deliver our Education qualifications to Singapore based students

It Is located in Auckland (Northern Island). Auckland City was the most populous city in the country, with a population of 450,300 (June 2010 estimate). It lay in the Auckland Region, which was governed by the Auckland Regional Council based in Auckland City

NZTC is located in Greenlane, a central suburb about 6km from the city centre. The campus is located next to both a major train and bus stop, and is easily accessible using Auckland’s public transport system.
Auckland is a very cosmopolitan city with plenty of part-time work opportunities for students. It was rated fourth equal (with Vancouver) in the Mercer 2010 Quality of Living Survey , and is a city full of lively entertainment options and leisure activities suitable for all ages.
