Costs to study in UK

Scholarships
Since in most cases universities in UK are funded by the government, they have limited resources available to provide students with scholarships. However, provisions are still made in order to avail students the opportunity to access scholarships and bursaries. These forms of financial assistance are provided on the basis of academic performance. Students looking to study in UK from India also have at their disposal specific scholarships dedicated to them. Intake
Universities in UK have an intake in September and October. While on the other hand, some also have a January or February intake.
Entry Requirements
Depending on the course and level of study students are required to possess academic scores. Moreover, in order to be eligible to study in UK students also need to possess English Language proficiency. The minimum score for IELTS is 6.5 for PG courses and 6.0 for UG Studies. Some universities in UK take into consideration the marks scored in English in XII. If students have scored up to 75%, some universities waive off the English requirement. What is also important for students to note is that certain universities also accept TOEFL and PTE scores as well.
Work Opportunities
During the duration of their study in UK students can work part-time that is 20 hours per week and full-time during their course break. Students can expect to earn around £ 5 - £ 7 per hour i.e. approximately £375 - £525 per month during the term. Local newspapers, job shops, university career cells are excellent starting points for students to gain information about jobs available.
Stay Back Avenues
International students from a range of countries which include India, can stay back in the UK two years upon the completion of the course. Until recently, those who study in UK from India received a stay back of mere four to six months respectively. The new visa applies to students studying any subject at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The new route is set to be launched in the summer of 2021, meaning eligible graduates in the summer of 2021 (Academic Year 2020-21) will be able to apply for this route. This also includes students who have already commenced their course.
