US Aviation Academy

Overview

US Aviation Academy has immediate openings for high-quality flight instructors. National Aviation Academy (NAA) is a nationally recognized aviation training school located in Clearwater, Florida and Bedford, Massachusetts. NAA began training Aircraft Mechanics in 1932. In fact, 98 percent of our CFI graduates come to work with us, so we definitely like to hire from within. As part of an international flight-training academy, instructors will be able to work with pilots from all over the world. Many of these students follow fast-paced programs, which offer great opportunities to accumulate hours quickly. Instructors can expect to build an average of 100 hours of flight time per month.

List of Departments / Schools / Faculty / College

Students will be responsible for paying TCC’s tuition, flight costs, books and equipment. TCC’s 2013 tuition rate is $55 per semester hour for Tarrant County residents, $86 per hour for other Texas residents and $205 per hour for students located outside of Texas. Compared to a private college, such as the University of North Dakota, which also offers a pilot program and charges $312 per semester hour for North Dakota residents, these are some of the most affordable rates available today. Books and equipment are estimated to cost $2,000. Flight training costs vary depending on fuel and other costs, so a current quote will be needed to get an up-to-date rate.

The Pilot Program
The exact course requirements for the pilot program can be found on TCC’s website. Students must complete courses in five fundamental academic areas: composition, speech, behavioral science, mathematics and humanities. Despite these core requirements, students’ courses focus primarily on aviation and may range from Aviation Meteorology to Turbine Aircraft Systems.
The flight training is completed in Cessna, Piper and Schweizer aircraft under a part 141 flight program with self-examining authority. This means the hours required to earn a pilot license are reduced, thus no time is wasted waiting for outside examiners that can prove to be both time consuming and expensive.

Helicopter Flight Training Program
TCC is proud to offer a Helicopter Flight Training Program tailored to those who would like to enter the rotor aviation arena. In addition to completing courses that predominantly focus on helicopter training and aviation, students enrolled in TCC’s Helicopter Flight Training Program must complete courses in five additional scholastic areas, including: speech, behavioral science, math, composition and humanities. TCC lists its particular helicopter program requirements and details on its website. Please feel free to reach out to the contacts below to learn more.
