Niagara University is a liberal arts university in the Vincentian and Catholic traditions. Niagara University was founded in 1856 as the College and Seminary of Our Lady of Angels, which began with six students and two faculty. Over the next 25 years, the college and seminary grew and prospered producing graduates that entered such fields as the priesthood, law and medicine, teaching, journalism and many others. on August 7, 1883, Grover Cleveland, then governor of New York, gave permission to the college and seminary to change its name to Niagara University.
The university has evolved over its long history into an institution that offers degree programs in the Arts and Sciences, Business and Teaching, and Hospitality and Tourism.
Location & Facilities
Grounded in the Vincentian tradition, Niagara University is located in the town of Lewiston in Niagara County, New York. The 160-acre main campus runs along the top of picturesque Monteagle Ridge overlooking the Niagara River gorge just four miles north of the world-famous waterfalls. The location of the main campus adjacent to the international border between the United States and Canada and relatively near the American and Canadian cities of Buffalo and Toronto.
On Campus accommodations available in the form of rooms with single/double/triple occupancy option, apartments. 6 seperate Houses - 3 for male and 3 for female students located in the varsity village. A common recreation room, dining, game room, workout area are available in all the apartment buildings.

Niagara Trustees Scholarship: $17,000 per year
NU Presidential Scholarship: $16,000 per year
NU Achievement Award: $14,000 per year
NU Grant: $9,000 per year
Enhanced Trustees recipients will be chosen at the Niagara University Invitational Scholarship Competition program and may receive up to an additional $5,000.
Niagara University operates on a 3 semester basis namely Fall / Spring / Summer.
The admissions are on a Rolling basis.
