Location & Facilities
The University operates across campuses in Paisley, Ayr, Dumfries and Hamilton, serving west and south-west Scotland.
The Paisley Campus is located in the heart of Paisley, Scotland's largest town. Paisley is seven miles west of Glasgow and is ideally located for access to some of Scotland's, and the world's, most beautiful and historic places such as Edinburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
The Ayr Campus is located on the west coast of Scotland in the town of Ayr. The Campus houses some of the finest media, broadcasting and recording facilities available. The local area boasts beautiful scenery and a rich arts tradition and history.
Crichton University Campus, Dumfries is located two miles from the centre of Dumfries. The Campus provides the local area with a range of Higher Education programmes.
The Hamilton Campus is located in the heart of Lanarkshire offering a lively and friendly atmosphere. Hamilton is centrally located, just eleven miles south of Glasgow.
The University is committed to providing students with the best possible facilities to support them in their studies. Each of our campuses boasts a well-stocked library plus computer laboratories with free e-mail and web access. Across the full range of subjects, specialised facilities and equipment enable students to develop their skills and gain practical experience to supplement their theoretical knowledge.
The necessities of life are looked after by our accommodation and catering services, while the Students' Association and Robertson Trust Sports Centre offer plenty of entertainment and leisure opportunities.

In support of our international students, the University offers several scholarship and incentive schemes.
Full fee paying international students may qualify for an award of £1,500 on receipt of a completed application with associated documentation. Our Admissions Officers will assess your application and you will be notified in your offer letter if you have been successful.
International Accommodation Bursary - £1,000
£1,000 is deducted from the cost of accommodation in the University's self-catering residences or flats. All full fee paying international students staying at the University's self-catering residences or flats are eligible to apply. The bursary does not apply to private accommodation outside of the University. Students must stay in University accommodation for 38 weeks of the academic calendar.
Early Payment Incentive - Tuition Fees
All full fee paying international students who have paid their fees in full, prior to or on enrolment, providing this is within one week of formal classes commencing, will be entitled to a 10% discount in tuition fees. This discount will be applied after any appropriate discounts.
Early Payment Incentive - Accommodation
All full fee paying international students staying in the University's residential accommodation are entitled to a 5% discount early payment incentive. Accommodation fees for the trimester must be paid in full prior to, or on enrolment, provided this is within one week of formal classes commencing, or within one week of an alternative start date negotiated with the University.
International Undergraduate Scholarships – 25% tuition fee discount
12 scholarships are available. Applicants must be applying for entry into first year. This award is for one year only.
Undergraduate Incentive Scheme - 50% off tuition fees
All full fee paying international students who have completed three consecutive years of study at the University will be eligible for the Undergraduate Incentive Scheme when they progress to fourth year Honours or MSc level.
Postgraduate Fee Offer
A 10% discount on tuition fees for full fee paying international students who wish to progress from undergraduate study at UWS to postgraduate study.
International Research Excellence Scholarship
Full fee paying self-funding international students can apply for 50% off research tuition fees for a maximum of three years. A limited amount of awards will be available for specific research areas and will be granted on academic merit.
