All courses are accredited by the
appropriate vocational education and Higher Education government
agencies, to ensure that courses meet quality assurance standards.
As part of the accreditation process,
courses are regularly reviewed and revised. Students at PIBT are
guaranteed current and relevant courses.
Articulation and University Recognition
International students who successfully
finish their Diploma program are guaranteed entry to the 2nd Year of
the relevant Bachelor degree.
Entry for Australian and Permanent Resident
students is determined by the availability of Government Supported
places on a competitive basis.
For students who wish to study elsewhere, either in Western
Australia or the Eastern States, many other options exist. Speak to
PIBT staff for specific information.

PIBT is a modern and dynamic educational
institution providing high quality courses in an environment which
encourages students to achieve excellence in their studies. Our mission
is to provide Pre-University, Undergraduate and Post Graduate level
programs for direct entrance into Edith Cowan University (ECU) and a
wide range of English courses. Our programs are designed in
consultation with ECU and include Business, Law, Communication,
Computing and IT, Engineering, Hotel Management, Health and Science.

Pre-University
The Certificate IV in University Foundation
Studies is a nationally recognised pre-university level course
equivalent to Australian Year 12 or Foundation Program. It is designed
to prepare students for university level study and requires 2 semesters
of full-time study.
Students will complete 4 modules in each
semester over 8 months. Progression to the Diploma program requires
passes in all 8 modules. Students who go on to successfully complete
their chosen Diploma program will be guaranteed entry into the 2nd year
of the related ECU Degree program.
Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies
Undergraduate
Study a university-designed Diploma course
in Perth. PIBT offers Diploma courses based on the first year of the
equivalent Degree program at Edith Cowan University. The courses are
also delivered and moderated by Edith Cowan University lecturers.
Students at PIBT have the advantage of
smaller class sizes and intensive teaching sessions. This allows you to
actively engage with academic staff and fellow students to receive the
support you need towards achieving success in your studies. Upon
successful completion of the PIBT Diploma program, you are guaranteed
entry into the second year of the relevant ECU Degree program. A full
year's credit is also available for entrance to universities around
Australia.
Diploma Programs
Post Graduate
The Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQP)
is designed to lead students into Masters Degrees and Graduate Diplomas
at Edith Cowan University.
The program is for students who already
have tertiary qualifications but are not qualified for direct entry
into university post-graduate courses. PQP has been specially designed
to equip students with the academic knowledge and study skills required
for success at the Masters Degree level.
Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQP)
Professional Year
The Professional Year Program is designed
to assist international student graduates gain employment in their
chosen career; as well as give eligibility for 10 migration points
towards permanent residence. It is a 44 week Department of Immigration
and Citizenship approved program, including a 12 week internship. This
initiative was developed by the Department of Immigration and
Citizenship together with Australian professional bodies to address
Australia’s skill shortages in nominated occupations.
Professional Year Program
English Courses
PIBT offers English Language Courses for
people from non-English speaking countries in Australia. A variety of
English courses are available to suit all levels from beginner to
advanced.
Students have access to a wide variety of
student services, support and activities with the added advantage of
interaction with Australian and International students studying degree
courses.
