  • University of Queensland

Founded in 1909, it is the oldest and largest university in Queensland and the fifth oldest in Australia. The University of Queensland is a member of the Australia's Group of Eight, and the international research-intensive universities network Universitas.

UQ is colloquially known as a "sandstone university" which is well regarded in Australia and highly ranked among top universities in four key international rankings - the QS World University Rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities, and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

  • Macquarie University

Macquarie University is an Australian public teaching and research university in Macquarie Park, New South Wales. Macquarie University Australia LogoMacquarie is ranked in the 201st-300th bracket and 8th-9th in Australia in the 2013 Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Founded in 1964 by the New South Wales Government, it was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney. The university is governed by a 17-member Council. Macquarie University also has the largest student exchange programme in Australia. The university is also ranked among the national top five recipients of relative research income.

The university currently comprises 33 departments within five faculties. Four faculties were formed at the start of 2009 from the consolidation of ten academic divisions, to enable a more organized and centralized approach to teaching and research:

  • University of Western Australia

University of Western Australia LogoThe University of Western Australia (UWA) was established by an act of the Western Australian Parliament in February 1911, and began teaching students for the first time in 1913. It is the oldest university in the state of Western Australia and is colloquially known as a "sandstone university". It is also the only university in the state to be a member of the Group of Eight.

UWA is highly ranked internationally in various publications: the 2013/14 QS World University Rankings placed UWA at 84th internationally, and in August 2014 the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University placed the university at 88th in the world.

To date, UWA has produced 99 Rhodes Scholars, 1 Nobel Prize laureate and 1 Australian Prime Minister graduated from UWA.

The University's degree structure has changed recently to further separate the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees available. The university offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Bachelor of Science (BSc).
