Finding Somewhere to Live
It guarantees you a place in University accommodation for your first
year of study. All you have to do is make sure you meet the qualifying
dates shown.
There are a great variety of
accommodation on and near to the campuses
to suit every student budget.
At the Hatfield College Lane Campus the accommodation is fully
furnished, with mainly single study bedrooms and shared
bathrooms/showers. At the Hatfield de Havilland Campus there are 1600
comfortable single study bedrooms with ensuite facilities and network
points. Kitchens at both sites are fully equipped with fridges,
freezers, microwaves, cookers and lockers.
Rents vary according to the type of accommodation and facilities, but
if you look at the details of price bands you will see the rents are
very reasonable.
As long as you meet the dates shown,
it guarantees that you will be
able to live in University accommodation for your first year.
Campuses
Hatfield de Havilland Campus

The new de Havilland Campus has eleven halls made up of
self-contained flats each accommodating an average of eleven students. All study bedrooms are single and all have ensuite
facilities, fridges and network points. The kitchen/common rooms
are spacious and well equ ipped
with up-to-date appliances. There is a high standard of
furnishing and equipment throughout.
These halls are situated adjacent to the Learning Resources
Centre, refectory and the new sports centre which offers top
class facilities for a wide selection of sports including
swimming, badminton, climbing, squash, cricket, aerobics, rugby
and football.
Hatfield College Lane Campus
This is an established campus convenient for the Students'
Union and student services such as the Cash Office and Student
Finance Centre. Also on this campus is a four storey Learning
Resources Centre with 800 computer workstations.
There are six halls on the College Lane Campus and a
development of houses (Roberts Way).

Butler, Fern, Chapman, Broad and Coales Halls are
older-style halls where a large kitchen is shared between
twelve rooms off a corridor. The majority are single rooms but
Butler, Fern and Chapman Halls contain some double rooms. All
rooms have hand washbasins. (Price band B).

Telford Court is the most modern hall, with eleven blocks of
seven or eight self-contained flats. Each flat accommodates
six people in single rooms. All rooms have hand washbasins.

Roberts Way consists of houses for eight people six single
and one double room with bunk beds). Some of the houses have a
hand washbasin in each room. (Price band A)
There is some accommodation near to the campus, mainly for
overseas or mature students. Chantry Court is an older block of
42 flats for two and three people, close to the Hatfield College
Lane campus. (Price band A)
St Albans Campus
If you are studying law at St Albans Campus, you will
normally be offered accommodation at Hatfield. There is a
frequent University bus service between Hatfield and St Albans.
