Highlights
- By the end of 2004, Unitec had 50,425 students
participating in 146 programmes of study
- There were over 10,271 EFTS or Equivalent
Full-time Students in 2004 (preliminary results)
- 13,775 students were enrolled in formal programmes
of study; 36,650 students participated in non-formal
or community education
- 2,526 of EFTS were international enrolments, a
high number considering the current slump in our
export education market
- 50% of EFTS were enrolled in degree programmes
- 65% of EFTS were enrolled in programmes at Level 6
and above
- 6% of EFTS studying for degrees were enrolled in
postgraduate programmes
- Many of our degree students had staircased from
certificate and diploma programmes
- The average age of students was 28 years
- Maori students made up 9.4% of non-international
EFTS
- Students came from 85 countries.
