Highlights

• By the end of 2004, Unitec had 50,425 students participating in 146 programmes of study
• There were over 10,271 EFTS or Equivalent Full-time Students in 2004 (preliminary results)
• 13,775 students were enrolled in formal programmes of study; 36,650 students participated in non-formal or community education  
• 2,526 of EFTS were international enrolments, a high number considering the current slump in our export education market
• 50% of EFTS were enrolled in degree programmes
• 65% of EFTS were enrolled in programmes at Level 6 and above
• 6% of EFTS studying for degrees were enrolled in postgraduate programmes
• Many of our degree students had staircased from certificate and diploma programmes
• The average age of students was 28 years
• Maori students made up 9.4% of non-international EFTS
• Students came from 85 countries.
