Postgraduate
Taught
Courses
The
University offers a wide and stimulating range of taught Masters
degrees. This prospectus contains, under departmental headings,
details of the taught Masters
degrees
that are currently available.
The
entry requirements to most taught courses are good honours
degree of an approved university or an equivalent qualification.
For some there are additional entry requirements and these are
shown in the individual course details. In addition, the
University offers a range of Postgraduate Diplomas designed for
various purposes, such as providing instruction to students who
wish to change discipline or prepare for entry to a masters
degree course. Candidates for admission to a Postgraduate
Diploma must normally be graduates or otherwise qualified to
study at an advanced level.
Duration of
Study
The
normal duration of study for a Masters degree is 12 months
full-time. For a Postgraduate Diploma it is normally nine
months, but please check the entry of each course.
Fees
In
2002/03, the fee levels for Masters degrees range from £1,440
per year for a part-time Postgraduate Diploma or Masters
degrees, to £2,870 (home rate) for full-time study. In the case
of unfunded courses such as the MBA the fee is £15,600. Futher

How to Apply for Admission
Formal
application for courses in all faculties must normally be made
on a University of Starthclyde postgraduate application form. An
Students and parents send completed application form to
"Edwise
International"
office. After processing
the application University replies to sucessful applicant with
formal offer.
Instructional courses normally begin in September and the
majority of registrations for research degrees also take place
at the beginning of the academic year, although it is possible
to register at other times.
