Accommodation
Living in Stirling
The University's Residential Services Office is delighted to
assist all prospective and current students to find
accommodation during their studies at "the most picturesque
university campus in Europe." With over 3,000 bed spaces
available the University is able to accommodate most needs
within University stock. Where the University is unable to
accommodate your needs the Residential Services Office is more
than happy to provide advice on finding private sector
accommodation within the Stirling area. |

It hopes that you find the following relevant
pages for both undergraduate and postgraduate students useful and
that they serve to answer many of the general accommodation queries
which regularly occur. Please feel free to contact us at any time to
discuss your own specific requests using the details listed below.
Accommodation
Undergraduate Accommodation
The University appreciates that the move away from home can be a
daunting experience and provides a guarantee that all students in
their first year of study will be provided with accommodation. All
first year students from any location will normally be allocated a
single study bedroom in a Hall of Residence, although, in times of
high demand students may be required to share a twin room. If the
Halls of Residence are full, suitable alternative accommodation will
be arranged by the University.
Students in their fourth year of study are guaranteed a place in
University accommodation. Accommodation not reserved for those in
their first or final year of study is allocated to 2nd and 3rd year
students who have indicated a preference for this.
On campus Halls of Residence are occupied predominately by young
students in their first year of study and mature students may prefer
other forms of accommodation.
The Residential Services team is delighted to assist all students
with accommodation matters and can also provide a list of private
sector contacts for those who wish to make their own arrangements.
Postgraduate Accommodation
The Residential Services Office is delighted to assist
postgraduate students in identifying suitable accommodation. The
University recognises that students who are new to the UK may be
particularly interested in having a place in University
accommodation and makes every effort to ensure that all who apply
are offered accommodation reserved specifically for postgraduate
students. Those who would like to be allocated University
accommodation are strongly encouraged to apply early, as it can
become increasingly difficult to find places after June.
The Residential Services Officer is also able to help students find
private sector off campus accommodation by sending out, on request,
regularly updated lists of private accommodation that is currently
available.
