What is
the First Destinations Survey (FDS)?
Each
year, every UK University and College of higher education
is required to contact its most recent graduates and
diplomatic. They ask a series of questions about what
their ex-students are now doing in terms of employment
and/or further study. The information collected relates to
the activities being undertaken in the January of the year
after graduation. Once gathered, it is forwarded to the
Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) for analysis.
The information from every institution is used to compile
a report of comparative data from across the UK higher
education sector. This is published every July, and a copy
of the current report is available from the Careers and
Employment Centre at City Campus.
The data
on this web site relates to those graduates who finished
their course in 2000. Data is collected in the
autumn/winter following graduation, by postal and
telephone surveys.
The hard
copy versions of the FDS data for 2001 can be found in the
careers resource centre. |
