Certificate IV in Foundation Studies (Global
Assessment)
Referred to as the Global Assessment
Certificate
The Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) is a
unique university preparation course for
students whose first language is not English. It
develops the educational levels, skills and
competencies that students require to succeed at
degree level studies in the five dominant
English-speaking countries.
The Global Assessment Certificate is recognized
by universities in Australia, New Zealand,
United States, and the United Kingdom and has
been developed under the Australian Quality
Training Framework and meets the standards for
all courses accredited at this level within
Australia.
The GAC facilitates pathways for university
admission into undergraduate programs in such
fields as information technology, business and
commerce, economics, journalism and media,
applied sciences and technologies, humanities,
and social science.
Some Australian universities will credit up to
four (4) units towards an undergraduate degree
on successful completion of the Global
Assessment Certificate. The Australian
Vocational and Education Training Board (VETAB),
as well as the New Zealand Quality Assurance
Structure accredit the GAC.
The Meridian International School is the first
registered training provider to deliver the
Global Assessment Certificate in Australia. The
independent Global Governance Board and the GAC
Quality Assurance Program regulate the quality
of each school and its teaching staff.
