your college experience. Not only will you attend classes here, you'll also
become part of an interesting and exciting community. You'll make new

Meal Plan Information
When you join the Long Island University, your
computerized LIUCard will have your pre-programmed meal plan balance.
The LIUCard may be used at each dining location on campus. For your
protection, the LIUCard is non-transferable and may be confiscated if it
is transferred. Each semester your account will start with your chosen
meal plan. Each purchase will be deducted from your account. Each time
you purchase a snack or a full meal, you may ask the cashier to tell you
how many meals and/or declining dollars you have remaining. If your
dollars run low, you can add Dining Dollars to your account using cash,
check, money order, or credit card. Your unused Dining Dollars transfer
from Fall to Spring in a given academic year. At the end of Spring, any
unused Dining Dollars are not refundable. They will not be transferred
to the new academic year.
All students who choose to live on campus are required to purchase a
meal plan and do not have an option to cancel their plan. All first
year freshman students must choose Pioneer Mean Plan One or Pioneer Meal
Plan Two.
All students with over 24 credits can select a meal plan of their
choice. Any student that does not select a meal plan will be assigned
the appropriate plan by default.
