Liverpool - The World in One City
Liverpool is a vibrant student city offering plenty of
cultural, sporting, musical and social opportunities during
your time at Liverpool Hope.
As the city prepares to celebrate European Capital of
Culture in 2008, Liverpool Hope will be playing its full
part in the cultural events leading up to the year.
Visitors to Liverpool are constantly amazed by the rich
tapestry of theatres, concert halls, museums, galleries,
bars, cosmopolitan shops and restaurants, which the
birthplace of The Beatles has to offer.
Sporting fans will enjoy the friendly rivalry between
Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club, the
world-famous Grand National which attracts thousands to
Aintree Racecourse, the thrills of Rugby League and the
golfing excitement of The Open Championship - with Royal
Birkdale in Southport and Royal Liverpool in Wirral.
The historic waterfront has been a focal point of the
city over many years and The Pier Head - and its notable
Three Graces - has won the Government's nomination as a
World Heritage Centre.
Being a student of Liverpool Hope in the run-up to 2008
offers wonderful opportunities to join in the celebrations
and contribute to the cultural aspects of the city.
Liverpool Hope is already at the forefront of preparations
across the city with our series of conferences, publications
and events planned to link with new Capital of Culture
modules and exciting partnerships with the theatres,
galleries and concert halls of Liverpool .
Liverpool has much to offer and will be a stimulating
place to study in the years leading up to 2008. Students of
Liverpool Hope will have the opportunities to both
participate in and observe the excitement of Liverpool - the
European Capital of Culture 2008.
Did you know?
Merseyside has
more museums and galleries than any other city region
outside of London - 32 in fact!
