WHY CHOOSE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL :
Excellence in teaching and research...
The standard of research within the University of Liverpool is reflected in the results of the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). In this, 38 of the 43 subject areas submitted for assessment, received a score of 4, 5 or 5* (out of a possible 5*). The quality of teaching is assessed by visits to individual university departments. 27 departments were assessed and 17 awarded an “Excellent” score (a score of 22/24 or more), a further five only missing being classed as “Excellent” by one point. International students can be sure that whatever programme they choose, they will be taught by staff who are experts in their field and who have a genuine commitment to education.

The Location...
The University campus, known as The Precinct, is located in the centre of Liverpool. The city centre with its shops, bars and restaurants is just 10 minutes’ walk away. The historic waterfront, the Albert Dock and many of the city’s major museums and galleries are also within walking distance. Liverpool is only one hour away from Manchester International Airport, has its own airport with European connections, and an excellent rail and bus network to destinations across the U.K.

There’s a vibrant, confident and cosmopolitan feel to this city.
There are more museums, galleries and festivals here than in any other British city outside London. Enjoy cafe culture, independent and touring theatre, great gigs and fantastic shopping. There is a huge range of student nights and student discounts available.

Two cathedrals, two Premier League football clubs, the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Grand National and the FACT centre are just a few of the city’s top attractions.
The architecture is fantastic, the people are friendly and the cost of living is cheap compared to some other British cities

The Liverpool of today is a changed city. It's emerging as one of the UK's leading centres for learning, culture, entertainment, sport and endeavour. The award of European Capital of Culture 2008 has confirmed this - and the University is at the heart of it all.
