You can download the
application form. When you have completed it, you can send
it together with the transcripts and references to the
International Office.
What Happens
Next?
When the application
form is received, the International Office will need to
consider your whole profile in order to make as assessment
of your suitability for the programme for which you have
applied. It will look at your education history, academic
and language qualifications, any business experience,
references, and your personal statement.
If you meet the entry
criteria, you may receive an unconditional offer. If you
have yet to meet a condition, such as IELTS of 6 or if you
have to complete an academic qualification, you will
receive a conditional offer to a programme subject to you
satisfying that condition.
If you do not meet the
requirements, you may be offered a place on a more
suitable programme.
If you applied through a
representative, the offer will be addressed to you and
sent to their office.
You will then need to
consider the offer being made. If you wish to accept the
offer, and it hope you will, please do so in writing,
accompanied by the pre-registration deposit of £2,000,
which secures your place, and which allows you to apply
for your guaranteed accommodation.(updates as on 11th
July, 05)
Entry
Requirements
There are normal minimum
entry requirements for students from that country. These
generally relate to the level (English language,
foundation, undergraduate years 1 to 3, masters) of the
programme needed. Specific programmes may carry additional
requirements (see below). The normal requirements relate
to English language; to academic background, and to
professional or business experience (especially for MBA).
English
Language
All students will need
to satisfy a language requirement. For students whose
first language is not English, the minimum level of
English is the equivalent to IELTS of 6.0 or TOEFL (cbt)
220 (or 550). Students from other countries such as Ghana,
Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda, will need to have the
equivalent of GCSE grade C such as SSCE , KCSE or EACE/UCE
grade 3.
Exceptions are to the
International Foundation Programmes - IELTS of 4.5 or
TOEFL of 100 (or 400) – and to the MBA IELTS of 6.5 or
TOEFL of 250 (or 600).
There are special entry
requirements for certain programmes.
A portfolio
demonstrating creative ability is needed for programmes
such as:
BA Architecture,
Landscape Architecture, Garden Design, Design Technology,
3-D Digital Design, Garden and Digital Design, MA

Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Studies, Website
Architecture.

business experience gained at an appropriate level in a
wide range of business fields and organisations, either in

government and military organisations. Those who do not
meet these requirements in full should apply for MA

marketing, and preferably with appropriate marketing
experience.

needed depending on the masters for which you are
applying. You need only apply for one and may transfer to
another, if suitably qualified, when you join.
MSc Computing

No degree or formal
training in computing is necessary for MSc Computing and
Information Systems. For the MSc Distributed Computing
Systems, or MSc Mobile Computing and Communications,
students need a numerate degree with some software
development (programming in C or better) experience, or in
networking or communications, respectively, but a degree
in information systems would not be enough; for MSc
Internet Technology & e-commerce or in Internet
Technology, a degree in computer science (datacoms,
networking, programming, software and hardware systems
analysis) with Java or C++ is needed; for Scientific and
Engineering Software Technology, a degree in computing,
