Banks and post office
There is an ANZ Bank branch (closed Wednesdays) with
external ATM in the Mall near the Registry and a Bank SA
branch on level 4 of Flinders Medical Centre (open from
noon only). EFTPOS facilities are available in the Union
Shop, Union Hub in the Sturt buildings, Union ACCESS, the
tavern and the post office in the Mall.
The post office offers a full range of services, including
BPay, and is an agency for most credit unions and many
banks, including Adelaide Bank, Commonwealth Bank,
National Bank, Citibank and Bank of Hong Kong. It also
sells multi-trip tickets for public transport.
Shops and spaces
Unibooks bookshop is on the Plaza, while Union ACCESS
on the Plaza level of the Union Building includes
Unirecords, a VenueTix© agency and a music listening
centre.
Below the Plaza, in the University Mall, are the Union
Shop (which stocks everything from magazines and
memorabilia to cheap movie tickets), a wholefood shop, STA
travel agent, optometrist, pharmacy, a photo/film shop,
and the Religious Centre. There is a branch of the Union
Shop in the Sturt buildings.
In the undercroft area of the Union Building (below the
tavern) you'll find a laundromat, the Queer Space, the
Conservation Centre and a meeting room (booked through
Union ACCESS).
Room and equipment hire
You can hire a range of equipment and book the use of
rooms in the Union Building through Union ACCESS. There
are also women's rooms on the main campus and at Sturt.
Child care and support
Flinders has a child care centre and there is a
community child care centre at Flinders Medical Centre.
The University Union runs a vacation care program and a
Parent Care (which is run by parents for parents and
offers an in-kind child care scheme). Breastfeeding
facilities also are available on campus.
Computers and IT
Computers for student use are located in the
libraries, designated computer laboratories and the Clubs
and Societies office. The Union offers a short-term laptop
hiring service.
Students can use email through the University's central
mail server. Internet access is available from
workstations in the library. The University has policies
covering the use of computer facilities and computer
networks.
Eating and drinking
See the University Union website for details of all
the food outlets it operates on campus, including the
location of vending machines.
Faxes, photocopying etc
You can send or receive a fax at Union ACCESS, the
Students' Association office or the FISA office.
There are photocopiers in all libraries, Union ACCESS, the
IST Building foyer, McHugh's, the Union Hub (Sturt
buildings) and the Clubs and Societies office.
Clubs and Societies has a digital colour photocopier and
can handle large volume and double-sided copying and
overhead projection transparencies.
The Union shop has a laminating machine and a spiral
binder.
Lawyers and JPs
The Union Welfare Service offers a visiting lawyer service
fortnightly and also can arrange appropriate referrals to
community legal services. A number of Justices of the
Peace are available on campus by appointment.
Medical assistance and counselling
The University Health and Counselling Services are
located on Level 3 of the Student Centre and are open from
8.45am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday.
Lost property and lockers
The Security Office in the foyer area outside the Central
Library also serves as the Lost Property Office. It is
staffed between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday and can
be contacted on 8201 5151. An after hours service for the
loss of car keys is handled by Security.
Lockers are available for hire throughout the University.

Sport and fitness
The Alan Mitchell Sports Centre is located next to the
Student Centre and is open seven days a week. It offers a
wide range of programs and facilities.
