The Building
Users with mobility problems may need assistance with the main
Library entrance doors. You may ring any of the above numbers
before you set off and arrangements will be made to meet you on
arrival. Inside the Library on the entrance level, there is a
lift near the current journals section, which serves all floors.
I
Fire
It advise readers with mobility or sensory problems to make
themselves known to the porter at the entrance to the Main
Library Building and when they leave - your name will be entered
on the 'in-building' list and crossed off when you leave. This
enables us to inform the Fire Brigade of your presence in the
building in the case of an emergency.
If there is a fire alarm, the lifts are NOT to be used.
Toilets
You will find specially adapted toilets on the main floor,
opposite the Issue Desk.
Individual Requirements
So that it can provide the most appropriate assistance to users
with disabilities, please let us know as soon as possible after
you arrive at the University of any problems you may encounter,
or anticipate, in using the Main Library. Tutors of students
with disabilities are especially asked to let us know of any
special requirements in individual cases.
If you would like to discuss these or any other aspect of
Library Service provision for users with disabilities, please
contact Linda Barker or any of the disabilities working party
members listed above.
