HALLS OF RESIDENCE
It place students in the Jewel and Esk Valley Halls of Residence. The halls are in another part of the city, but there are regular bus services.
You would stay in a single study bedroom with simple furniture: a bed, wardrobe, desk, bookshelves and washbasin. Bed linen is provided and is washed for you weekly. The refectory or dining room serves meals Monday to Friday, with students cooking their own meals at weekends. There are student kitchens, but you have to provide cooking utensils.
The College can arrange accommodation for you.
However, you have to sign a contract with a
landlord/landlady (and often pay a deposit) to
reserve the accommodation. This is why you need to
let us know what kind of accommodation you want at
least one month before you arrive. It's a good
idea to give us longer at some times of the year,
such as August-September or Christmas and New
Year, when Edinburgh is very busy.
Other facilities
available at Edinburgh include:
Bathroom/shower rooms on each floor .
Launderette .
Common room with satellite television .
Sports complex with swimming pool, tennis, squash, basketball and other sports . |
