history. A further 10 subjects achieved a national excellence
"4-rating" - psychology, community based clinical subjects,
computer science, general engineering, geography, politics and

Financial health:
Annual turnover of just over £100 million. Research
earnings place the University third in Scotland and 16th in
UK. Total SHEFC grant for 2000-2001 up 2.9% compared with
average rise for sector of 2%.
Cheap to live in?
One of the cheapest. Cost of living around 13 % less than
the UK average. £72 a week will get you a place in the top of
the range self catering West Park Villas where every room is
en suite, with double bed, telephone point, computer point to
plug in your own computer and surf the Net, personal safe...
Less well appointed residences from £37 per week. Private
accommodation also very reasonably priced £35 a week for a
room in a reasonable flat close to campus.
