'Making
Knowledge Work.'
Bradford is a great place to live and study. Although it is
one of the ten largest cities in Britain, it is small enough
to be friendly, compact enough to be easily manageable, and
yet large enough to have all the facilities of a thriving,
modern city.
The cities of Leeds, York, Manchester and Sheffield are less
than an hour away by personal transport supported by an
excellent public transport infrastructure. The countryside is
so close; you can walk into it from the city centre. The main
University Campus is within walking distance of the City
Centre. The University is based close to the city centre
across three campuses; the main city campus at Richmond Road,
the School of Health Studies at Unity Building, a few minutes
walk away, and the School of Management, based on its own
14-acre campus two miles from the city campus.
The University of Bradford received its Royal Charter in 1966
but its origins date back to the 1860s. Today the University
has around 6,300 full-time undergraduates and around 800
full-time postgraduates.
The University has more than 140 degree courses at
undergraduate level and around 80 at postgraduate level.
Bradford
School of Management is one of Europe's leading full-service
business schools, with undergraduates, MBA and other graduate
students, and practising managers on executive programmes all
studying on the one site.
The
MBA programme is rated among the
best in the world. The full-time programme was rated in the
top 100 worldwide and the top ten in the UK in the Financial
Times January 2003 survey. The executive programme was rated
in the top 50 worldwide and the School has the prestigious
EQUIS accreditation from the European Foundation for
Management Development and is AMBA accredited.
