The Academic Program Berkeley College
offers superior value in higher education with programs that balance traditional
academic preparation with professional training and hands-on experience. These
programs are designed to deliver the knowledge and skills employers are looking
for and include workplace experience in the area of the student's interest. The
programs are flexible, yet concentrated, supplying an essential foundation for
moving to a higher level in a current job or for launching a successful new
career.
The Calendar Berkeley offers many special advantages. For example,
the College operates year-round, with four quarters
starting in September, January, April, and July. This
flexible quarter system provides students enrolled in the
day division with the option of earning their bachelor's
degree in as little as three years - or the traditional
four years. An associate's degree can be completed in
only 18 months.
Evening/weekend
students have the option of completing their bachelor's
degree in less than four years or an associate's degree in
only two years.
Tuition Freeze For students who maintain
continuous, full-time enrollment, Berkeley offers
protection from tuition increases.
Study Abroad Berkeley's study abroad
offerings and overseas partnerships provide exciting
opportunities for students to experience an
internationalized program of study. The College has
articulation and study abroad arrangements with colleges
in other countries and also offers its own study abroad
programs. These include eight weeks of summer study in
London and Paris, as well as ten-day seminars between
quarters.
Computer Skills Each Berkeley degree program includes a strong technology component so
that graduates become proficient in the software packages most often used in
today's businesses. These packages include graphics, spreadsheets, databases,
word processing, electronic communication, online research, and the Internet.
Work
Experience To give students a greater
understanding of the workplace and make them more attractive to employers, each
degree program includes an internship requirement which provides students with
business experience.
Special
Services and Full-Service Placement Berkeley students are entitled to a
full range of services including career counseling by a specialist in their
chosen field, resume planning, training in interviewing strategies, and job
placement. Utilizing an established network of corporate contacts, placement
counselors schedule interviews for each student's internship and assist them in
securing a full-time position upon graduation. Last year, 95 percent of all
graduates available for placement were employed in positions related to their
studies at Berkeley.
Berkeley's
commitment to serving its students does not end with graduation. Graduates are
also eligible to receive free lifelong job placement assistance and refresher
privileges throughout their careers.
