Admission and Enrolment
International students have separate requirements and procedures for
admission and enrolment. Admission requirements will differ depending upon the
programme you are applying for and the country where you studied during your
previous education. To study at Victoria you also need a high level of
competence in English.
Your first step towards studying at Victoria is applying for
admission. If your application is accepted, you can begin preparing for
enrolment.
A)Admission
For a successful application you will be required to do the following:
1. Complete a Victoria International admission application form:
- All sections of the application form must be completed.
- All information must be written clearly in ink.
- All the information submitted must be accurate and backed up by
documentation.
2. Academic documentation:
- Submit original or certified photocopies of all previous tertiary studies
(a full academic transcript showing all subjects attempted, including
failures, marks or grades). Copies of your syllabus may be requested if you
are seeking credit or exemptions.
- Acceptable certifying bodies are: The academic institution who awarded the
qualification, a government office / embassy, a New Zealand diplomatic post, a
New Zealand based Justice of the Peace or Lawyer.
- Where qualification results are pending, such as students sitting NZ
Bursary examinations, it will be possible for Victoria to issue an offer
conditional upon successful completion.
3. English Language certification:
- Results certificates for IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge examinations should be
original and supplied directly from the administrating body.
- Letters from academic institutions supporting or certifying English
Language must be signed originals and be supplied on the institutions official
letter head with the signatories contact details.
4. Post Graduate Applications:
- Where a qualification includes a research component, an application should
be accompanied by a detailed research proposal.
- Applications should be supported by at least two academic references.
- Applications should be supported by a CV and detailed descriptions of any
relevant work experience.
5. Identification:
- Certified/notarised copy of personal details page from passport, or birth
certificate.
Note: Certified/notarised translations of original documents are
required when these are not in English.
B)Application Closing Dates
You should apply as early as possible to give yourself maximum preparation
time for visa, fee payment, travel and accommodation arrangements. There may be
an official closing date for the programme for which you are applying.

C)Enrolment
Enrolment is the process of registering for individual courses of study.
Further information about selecting these courses can be found in
Building a Degree.
International students will select and enrol in courses once they arrive at
the University. Enrolment will take place in the week before classes begin. The
full process will be explained to students through a series of briefing sessions
during orientation.
