Support Staff
There are four fulltime staff members at Victoria International with whom
you can freely discuss any problems or issues you might be having while
studying at VUW.
It may be that you are homesick, struggling with your
workload or just want someone understanding to talk to. All the student
advisors have experienced living in a different culture and are very aware
of how difficult it can be to adapt to a new country, language and culture.
If a staff member is not able to provide first hand help or advice, they
will refer you onto one of many professional student services organisations
on campus, or within the community. All matters will be dealt with
confidentially and students' privacy will be respected at all times in
accordance with the Privacy Act of New Zealand.
Administration Support
Victoria International provides considerable administrative support for
international students in relation to the payment/refunding of fees,
changing courses, advice on immigration, and other related matters.

Programme for students at the beginning of each trimester. This is
compulsory for all new international students.

at Victoria University. This is an informal opportunity to meet with staff
and students for possibly the last time prior to returning home.
There is also the opportunity to meet with other students who have
returned from studying overseas and share with them what it's like to 'go
home' as well as supplying practical advice on inexpensive ways to send your
luggage home or how to keep in touch.
