The Toronto Film College was created to
meet the demands of students who wish to learn about and work in the film
and television industries. The goal of the College is to produce students
capable of working effectively on a film project and students who are also
aware of the artistry that is involved in creating films and videos.
The work behind as well as in front of the camera is the focus of the
College. TFC gives students intensive hands-on instruction in the film and
television industries incorporating theory, history, and
practical instruction. TFC graduates will be thoughtful, innovative, and hardworking
individuals ready to make a strong contribution.
The academic faculty
at TFC is energetic, enthusiastic and eager to share their wealth of knowledge
and experience with TFC students. College faculty have worked in all areas of film
in Toronto and other locations around the world, and continue to work on
projects that interest them.
The classrooms at TFC are equipped with
up-to-date cameras, projectors, and computers to enable students to learn
and practice the skills and techniques used in the industries. TFC also works
with a production company in Toronto to give students experience working
in film studio from the beginning of their program. TFC active Career Centre makes
this happen.
As TFC students complete their diploma programs, they have the opportunity for
their short film projects to be broadcast on the cable television channel, Movieola, that transmits all over North America.
