Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, declared Brighton to be
a city in January 2000. The citizens of Brighton are now proud to be
officially recognised as a City, making Brighton the first new city of this
millennium. England's most delightful and vivacious seaside resort, Brighton
offers a wide variety of culture, fun, wonderful architecture and breathtaking
scenery.
Young, Cosmopolitan and Fun loving
Brighton is a large English city, with approximately 250 000 inhabitants. It
is also one of Britain's foremost tourist destinations for visitors of all
ages and nationalities for study, work and play. From the Royal Pavilion and
annual Arts Festival to its Victorian pleasure piers (The Palace Pier and West
Pier), from theatres and clubs to its unique collection of shops and
boutiques, there is always something new and exciting to discover in Brighton.
Brighton is a byeword for its great social life. The Brighton Race Course is
always a popular day out. Many of the students enjoy getting lost while
shopping in the Lanes. you can catch many pop concerts at the Brighton Centre.
The Brighton Seafront is definitely the place to be on any given summer's day.

Sussex University and Brighton University.

Sussex University are right in the centre of Brighton, nearby most of the
city's English language schools, a short bus ride to the main universities and
five minutes' walk to the heart of Brighton's diverse night life .
There is a bus stop at the top of the road (three minutes' walk) with buses
passing every five to ten minutes.
Brighton train station is fifteen minutes' walk door to door.
A supermarket, post-office and laundromat are along the same road or around
the corner.
There are many sandwich shops, take-aways and kebab stalls along
the road.
The Palace Pier, Royal Pavilion and Churchill Square Shopping Centre are
all close by.
Brighton and Sussex University are two short stops on the local train,
taking about 10 minutes each way. |
