Southampton Solent University is one of the UK's newest universities,
since they became a university in July 2005 and officially changed their name on 15
August 2005. But although their name is new Southampton Solent University is
already well known for the distinctive way they link together student learning,
applied research and service to business and the community. In this way they
give their students the best learning experience and the best start to their
future careers that they can.
Southampton Solent University offer 16,000 students a
choice of courses ranging from foundation 'level zero' years that lead onto
degree courses, to master's degrees and PhDs, plus a variety of professional and
short courses. Since 1992 Southampton Solent University awarded more than 100
research degrees.

Mountbatten Library :
more than just books! There are extensive
collections of books, journals, videos, DVDs and other multimedia material
searchable from the Library catalogue, plus a whole lot more. The Library is
also open to members of the public to visit and use as a reference
collection. |

Quality student accommodation : in University's purpose-built halls of
residence. Over the summer, when students go home, they use the halls for
conferences and language schools. As part of widening participation
scheme University offer pupils from partner schools and colleges a chance to stay in
halls to gain an all-round experience of university student life. .

Sports facilities : both on land and on the water! East Park Terrace
campus is home to sports hall and fitness suite. Football, rugby
and cricket pitches plus netball courts, along with fully licensed clubhouse
and changing facilities, are available at Hardmoor sports ground.

The Watersports Centre at Warsash :
range of crafts including seven powerboats, nine dinghies and three
keelboats, and offers a wide range of training courses designed to provide
the opportunity for novices through to experienced water users to improve
their sailing/powerboating skills. These facilities are also open to the
public.

Solent University's
East Park Terrace campus is situated in the heart of a vibrant city. With over
16,000 students on work-related courses, in a modern environment, it's no wonder
that campus is so alive.
Everything is on hand, with shops,
restaurants, and bank cashpoints all on campus or nearby. Halls of Residence,
the city centre, the railway station and the waterfront are all within 4 to 15
minutes walking distance.
Accommodation
Like all students, you have the choice of living in one of our Halls of
Residence or living in private accommodation.
If you wish to stay in the Halls of
Residence, please note that the accommodation booking form will be available
around May and will be sent to all international students who have been offered
a place at the University.
For those who wish to live in
private accommodation, please note that you will need to come over to look for a
house, as the University cannot take that responsibility.
