Student Service
The following services are offered to help student during their time with the
Royal Business College.
Counselling
Counsellors who speak language can be arranged to help student with any
personal problems that may arise.
Airport Transportation
When student arrive at Christchurch or Auckland International Airport, College staff or
host family will meet student and take them to their homestay accommodation.
ORIENTATION
PROGRAMME
The Royal Business College Orientation Programme is designed to provide an
introduction to life in NZ, school life and school rules.
The Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students is introduced
and explained. As well as gently easing students into their new environment, the
Programme also assists students to complete the formalities required of every
new arrival (opening a bank account, obtaining an IRD number and student
identification, etc)
Orientation covers an average of three days, but is often extended depending on
the students' needs.
Programme Outline
During the Programme, students will be given orientation on
(a) homestays (b) school rules (c) school procedures (d) classroom behaviour (e)
Christchurch/Auckland/NZ (includes getting around; money management;
recreational activities; joining the library; health and safety; laws applying
to overseas students; student rights, (f) The Code of Practice for Pastoral Care
of International Students.
Towards the end of the Orientation Programme, students are placement tested and
inducted into mainstream classes.
Student Facilities
The Royal Business College has its own kitchen facilities for student use. In
addition, coffee, tea and milk are free of charge during morning and afternoon
breaks.
Further Academic Studies
The Royal Business College can help with student application to enrol for further
study at Secondary and Tertiary Educational Institutions.
