LaSalle College


Montreal's LaSalle College is a collegial level institution accredited by the Government of Quebec that has a learning evaluation policy, which is sanctioned by the state.

Established in 1959, it is the largest private bilingual technical college in Canada.

The campus is located in the heart of downtown, where boutiques, restaurants and services of all kinds abound. The LaSalle College building is less than ten minutes walk from three different Metro stations (Georges-Vanier, Guy-Concordia and Atwater)

Housing

Host Families

Staying with Host Families is a very popular choice among students. This format includes:

  • One bedroom

  • A choice of three (3) meal formats: no meals, two meals or three meals per day

  • Weekly linen and towel changes

All host families are carefully selected to provide quality services to students. Staying with a host family allows students to completely immerse themselves in an English or French environment with a warm family atmosphere.

Student Residences

Student Residence housing is great for those who enjoy their independence as well as the benefits of communal living.
The service includes:

. Single room in a private residence
. Weekly change of linen and towels or easy access to a washer and dryer
. Communal kitchen and bathroom (shared with other students)
. Common room (in some cases)

LaSalle College Apartments

LaSalle College owns an 82-apartment complex located less than five minutes walk from the College. This housing concept is ideal for students who appreciate their independence. The apartments are available furnished or unfurnished.

Studio I (1 room):

. Large open room, bedroom/living room
. Kitchenette
. Bathroom


Studio I (1 room) furnished includes the following in addition to the above:

. 1 bed
. 1 clothes dresser
. 1 night table
. 1 kitchen table with 2 chairs


Studio II (2 rooms) furnished includes:

. 1 bed
. 1 clothes dresser
. 1 night table
. 1 kitchen table with 2 chairs


All units are equipped with a refrigerator and stove. The cost of electricity, heat and hot water are also included in the rent.

The shortest lease term available is 12 months.

Housing Assistance Services

LaSalle College provides Housing Assistance Services, which include:

. Access to information sheets on available housing units
. Personalised assistance in the search for housing
. A housing guide which includes the telephone numbers of several buildings with rental units of various sizes (between 1 and 6 rooms)

Cost of Housing in Montreal (in Canadian dollars)

The monthly cost for rent varies from one area to another depending on the community, the age of the building and lease conditions (furnished or not, heat included, etc.).

In general, apartments do not come furnished but most are equipped with a refrigerator and stove. If electricity and heating costs are not included in the rental amount, you are responsible for the monthly payment of these services.
