Georgian College

Georgian College, found in 1967, was established and is regulated through the Ministry of Training, College and Universities for the Province of Ontario.

The Barrie Campus has 7000 full-time students & 26,000 part-time students.

The latest Key Performance Indicators survey, conducted by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, indicates that Georgian has highest graduate employment rate in the Ontario college system. At 92.6 per cent, Georgian not only exceeded last year's rate of 90.4, it was the only college to surpass the 92 per cent mark. The new rate also marks the sixth year in row that Georgian has reached the 90th percentile in graduate employment, and they consistently lead the province in combined graduate employment and graduate satisfaction.

For the fourth year in a row, Georgian has been named one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada. Georgian is  the only college, university or school board on the list. Their students reap the benefits of this honour, as they strongly believe that an extraordinary place to work makes for an outstanding place in which to learn.

Mission

"To provide students with the knowledge, skills and work-related experience required for successful careers and lifelong learning."

Why choose Georgian?

You can have the best of both worlds by studying at Georgian College. You can earn a degree from such renowned universities as Laurentian, York and Windsor, while attending classes on small, quiet campuses without the hassles of traveling or moving to larger cities.

Students in degree and advanced study programs tell us they are thrilled to study in small classes where professors know them by name and take a real interest in helping them succeed. They find excellent student support services right on campus, including learning centres. Many students are able to save money by studying close to home while obtaining the same - or better - education they would receive in larger cities.

Barrie Campus
The Barrie Campus has the largest student population - approximately 7,000 full-time Georgian students - including those enrolled in degree, diploma and certificate programs. The 525-bed residence makes for vibrant 24/7 student life. The Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) houses computer labs and the new Library Commons. Georgian recently rebuilt and expanded the fitness centre and created a large double gymnasium and rock-climbing wall. The growing city of Barrie offers lots to do - from shopping and services to nightlife, and a bustling waterfront too.

Orillia Campus
The Orillia Campus is set on beautiful forested site. The Campus is small enough to be friendly and large enough to offer all the services you'll need. Georgian recently opened an expanded fitness centre packed with new equipment and a spectacular view. The Campus is home to the Justice and Public Safety Institute. The City of Orillia is located on Lake Couchiching with a vibrant downtown and lots of activities.

Owen Sound
At the Owen Sound Campus you'll get to know your teachers and classmates, and they'll get know you. That's just one advantage of attending a student-friendly campus located in a small city. Owen Sound is in the heart of beautiful Grey County on the shores of Georgian Bay.

A small city of 21,500 built around a safe, natural harbour on Georgian Bay in the heart of Grey-Bruce County, Owen Sound has the best of both worlds. It has an attractive downtown shopping core, excellent museum, fine dining, nightclubs, a symphony orchestra and theatres, But it is also a nature love's paradise with great beaches and endless opportunities for canoeing, hiking, rock-climbing and cross-country skiing.
