ABOUT CASTLE COLLEGE OF NOTTINGHAM :
On 1st June 2006, Broxtowe College and The People's College Nottingham united as
one super-college to offer bigger and better facilities for students.
The two Colleges between them already serve the city, east and west side of the
conurbation and with this merger the new and improved college will be able to
offer the best quality teaching and improved value for money from their major
campuses in the City, Carlton Road, Highfields, Beeston and Stapleford.
INTERNATIONAL :
Broxtowe College Nottingham has recently merged with The People's College
Nottingham, and the college is now called: Castle College Nottingham. They are
confident that the change to Castle College Nottingham will allow them to build
on their excellent reputation and further enhance the service they provide to
international students.
WHY CHOOSES CASTLE COLLEGE NOTTINGHAM:
-
Castle College Nottingham is part of the UK's state-funded education system. The
People's College was established in 1846, with Broxtowe College established
later in 1949.
-
The college has a number of different campuses throughout the city of Nottingham
and the surrounding area. Most international students are based in Beeston,
which is to the west of the city of Nottingham, with a small number based in the
city centre, at the People's Campus.
-
They are a member of the British Council's Education UK Partnership, and have
been welcoming international students for over 25 years.
-
They have around 3,500 full-time students. 350 of these are international
students from over 30 different countries.
-
They offer the widest possible range of courses, most of which allow you to
progress to British university degrees.
-
The college is closely linked to the University of Nottingham and we offer
International Foundation Programmes developed in association with the
University.
-
They have partnership arrangements with several other universities, who will
accept our courses for progression to their degree courses. These include:
Aston, Bath, De Montfort, Exeter, Keele, Loughborough, Newcastle, Nottingham
Trent and Oxford Brookes. However, students can apply to any university.
-
They are one of the top colleges sending international students to British
universities (according to UCAS statistics).
-
In 2006 our international students progressed to 32 British universities.
-
They are one of the few colleges that has its own "halls of residence" style
accommodation for international students.
-
They have a Student Support Team specifically for international students. The
team includes support workers who are native speakers of a range of languages.
-
The college is a member of English UK and our EFL courses are accredited by the
British Council.
ACCOMMODATION :
They have their own Accommodation Officers, who will help students to find
suitable accommodation near to the campus at which students are based. They
check all of their accommodation regularly to ensure it meets their required
standards.

next to the Middle Street Language Centre, about 10 minutes' walk from the
Beeston Campus.
45 rooms are available in 3 blocks, which look out on to a courtyard area. Each
"flat" has 5 private, single bedrooms with en-suite facilities (toilet,
washbasin and shower). There is also a spacious kitchen/dining room area for all
students living in the flat to use. Each room has limited broadband internet

This accommodation is suitable for students who will study at the Beeston Campus
or the Middle Street Language Centre.
Students who are aged 18 or over may be allocated rooms at Broadgate Park Flats
which are located 20 minutes walk from the Beeston Campus.
Homestay
This involves living with a local family and offers a great opportunity for
international students to improve their English and experience British family
life. Homestay accommodation is available for students based at all campuses.
The college has an approved network of host families, who are experienced in
looking after international students. You will be allocated a host family close
to the campus at which you will study.
Shared Student Houses
A number of Shared Student Houses are available for those who would prefer to
