University College Dublin (UCD) is Ireland's largest
university with some 20,000 students (including 2400
international students) and 2,500 academic staff.
There are currently 45 Indian students studying in UCD.
The majority are studying at Postgraduate level in the
areas of Business and Agriculture.
Entry Requirements for UNDERGRADUATE
Level
Assessment for
admission is based on 12 years academic preparation
Standard XII examinations of the following Boards, with
First Division/Class standing and a Statement of marks
with a minimum of 80%, will be considered:
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education
A statement of marks must be submitted for Grade X, XI and
XII
Grade XII subjects must include English language,
Mathematics and one other language. (There are further
subject requirements for specific courses.)
Application Procedure & Deadlines for
UNDERGRADUATE Level
Applications for
admission to Undergraduate programmes are generally made
via the Central Applications Office (CAO) - however
students can also apply via UCD's representatives in India
(see below).
The closing date for receipt by CAO of applications is
15th December preceding proposed entry. Late applications
however, may be considered up until May 1st depending on
availability of places.
Entry Requirements for POSTGRADUATE Level
Masters and
Doctoral Degrees are provided to suitably qualified
students in almost all academic disciplines.
In order to apply you must possess an Undergraduate degree
in a relevant subject - however exact entry requirements
for Postgraduate programmes vary between departments.
Please ensure that you contact the relevant department
regarding their specific entry requirements.
Application Procedure & Deadlines for
POSTGRADUATE Level
All decisions on
admission to Postgraduate programmes at UCD are made by
the PROGRAMME DIRECTOR of the relevant academic department
from whom application forms, and further information, are
available.
The deadline for applications to Postgraduate programmes
varies between departments. Please check with the relevant
department for their specific application closing dates.
It is recommended however that all postgraduate
applications be sent in before the 31st March.
Visa Requirements
Indian students
can obtain student visas from the Irish embassy in New
Delhi. Visa applications take approximately two months to
process.
