Residence Life
The Residence Life Department strives to support social interaction and community development within the student body. The members of the Residence Life Staff work to provide activities throughout the year which promote student involvement, help to build a resident community and allow students opportunities to get to know one another. The Residence Life Department is also responsible for developing and enforcing policies for the welfare of the resident population.

Residency Requirements

Freshmen and sophomores are required to live and board on campus unless:

They are under the legal age of 18 and will remain so for the duration of the housing contract term (an academic year),


Are married and/or the parent of a dependent child, (requires a residency waiver),


They have graduated from high school at least two years prior to matriculation,


Are 21 years of age or


Live full-time with their parent(s) and/or legal guardians.


Exceptions of this requirement are unusual.


On-Campus Housing Facilities

The Residence Halls

While individual hall rooms will vary in size and shape, each is furnished with a single bed, dresser, mirror, desk with overhead light, chair, bulletin board, mini-blinds, telephone jack, computer network connection, smoke detector, closet, and storage space. While the residence hall rooms are within walking distance of all classroom buildings, campus services and downtown Forest Grove, each hall contains recreational areas for watching TV and playing pool, coin-operated laundry facilities, kitchen facilities and vending machines.

The purpose of this site is to provide Pacific University community members with off-campus housing options and/or potential roommate information. If you have housing to rent, are looking for housing or need a roommate please read the important instructions below before proceeding. After you have read the instructions, you may use the link at the bottom of this page to "Continue on to the Housing Network". Please note: this is not a matching service and there is no fee for using this site.

Once you have received results from this service, it would appreciate you taking a few moments to complete the Housing Network Questionnaire.

Instructions/Disclaimers

1. In accordance with the Civil Rights and Fair Housing Acts, advertisements on this site must make no reference to race, color, sexual orientation, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or familial status (having children).

[EXCEPTION: If you are advertising a room for rent in a house in which you currently reside, you may specify a "female" or "male" tenant in the "Additonal Information" box on the "For Rent" posting page.]

2. Individuals participating in this service are not screened by the University in any manner. It is the sole responsibility of each person to make his/her decision in selecting a particular individual based on their own interview of the individual. This site can be viewed by any outside party, post at your own discretion.

3. There are three options available for posting information:

For Rent: use this option if you own a rental and are looking for tenants.
Housing Wanted: use this option if you are seeking a place to rent or purchase.
Roommate Wanted: use this option if you have secured housing and are looking for a roommate.  

4. Posting Policy:

All submissions will be viewed by the Housing Office before they are posted for public viewing. Generally this will occur once per week.
The Pacific University Housing Office reserves the right to edit or deny any submissions.
Posting will only be accepted for rentals in the Portland Metropolitan Area.
Enter one submission for each property owned.
Enter all fields that apply to expedite the processing of your request.
Once information is posted to this website, it will remain on view for 30 days. If your request is still valid after 30 days, you will need to re-submit your request.
If your property is rented prior to the 30 day viewing period. It will manually remove your request as time permits.
If you find you have submitted your posting with incorrect information.  

5. All students living off campus must meet eligibility requirements.

6. Expectations of Landlords: Pacific University expects landlords to adhere to the Oregon Landlord-Tenant Laws. If complaints are received from the students, it reserves the right to discontinue advertising these rentals.
