How To Apply

How to Apply

All applications to UK universities (excluding the Open University) and certain colleges of higher education must be made through UCAS for entry to FULL-TIME and SANDWICH:
. first degree courses (including those with foundation years)
. Diploma in Higher Education courses
. Higher National Diploma courses
UCAS is a computerised national applications system. Students complete one application form which allows up to six choices of institutions and/or courses so that you do not have to make costly and time-consuming multiple applications.
Courses in the scheme are listed in the UCAS Directory and you must apply through UCAS even if applying for admission with credit or for transfer from a full-time degree/diploma course at another institution. Home students wishing to seek advice about entry with credit before applying, please contact Jane Wood.
You may apply to up to six choices of institution/course on the UCAS form. You should not feel obliged to use all six choices if you do not wish to. Your choices can be formed in any way from the courses listed in the UCAS Directory, and you may, for example, mix both degree and non-degree courses if appropriate. For each degree course choice you should select either a single honours or a joint honours degree course.
If you wish to apply to the same institution for more than one course, you will normally have to make a separate entry for each choice. However, if you wish to be considered for both a degree course and an HND in the same subject at the same institution, this will only count as a single choice and the institution may make a joint offer for both courses. You should in this case apply using the course code for the degree course and enter "HND" in section 3(f) of the application form. You should list your choices in the order in which they appear in the Handbook. There is no facility for you to express an order of preference, and all your applications will be treated equally. Take care to enter the details of the institutions and courses clearly and correctly on the application form.
