Housing
There are eight undergraduate
colleges at Lancaster - Bowland, Cartmel, County, Furness,
Fylde, Grizedale, Lonsdale and Pendle. Each of these colleges
contains a cross-section of students from different year groups
and subject interests. You will live in one of these colleges if
you apply and are allocated accommodation on campus. You can
state your preference on your application form if you are
applying for a full undergraduate or postgraduate degree, but
you will be automatically allocated a room in one of them if you
are a Study Abroad student from outside the European Union.
European Union visiting or exchange students can apply for
accommodation in one of the colleges, but success is not
guaranteed.
There is also a separate Graduate
College.
Colleges support social functions
and inter-collegiate sporting and recreational events, and also
allow students and staff from diverse disciplines to meet
informally, to exchange ideas and to participate if they wish in
the running of the college.
The college accommodation is run
by the College and Residence Office.
