Townsville
On-campus accommodation is available at the Townsville
campus for around 1,300 students. New students can apply
from 1 September for the following year by applying
online.
Cairns
Cairns students have the option of living in the
Cairns Student Lodge (across from the Cairns campus) or at
JCU Oyster Court Apartments. Private accommodation is also
available.
JCU's Accommodation Service on the Townsville and Cairns
campuses assists students to find housing in on campus
colleges or halls of residence, as well as in private
rental or share. For students preferring off-campus
accommodation, the Service maintains a register of houses,
units, apartments, shared accommodation, full board and
caretaker arrangements. The Service also provides
information and advice on how to rent a private house or
unit. There is a wide range of affordable, good quality
housing available for rent near the campuses in both

Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
Students studying at JCU Sydney, Melbourne and
Brisbane campuses will be given assistance in finding
off-campus accommodation and settling in to the Australian
way of life. Students have the option of living with
homestay families or in units or apartments in the area.
Many students choose to share an apartment or house with
other students and split the cost. There are various
accommodation options for students near the JCU campuses.
