Homestay Accommodation
The dedicated homestay team can organise accommodation for
all students attending AUT International House. Homestay
accommodation provides students with the opportunity to
live with a New Zealand family and to speak English
everyday in a friendly supportive environment.
It select host families to make sure all accommodation is
clean and comfortable and that the families will be
welcoming to international students. It places the students
in homes where they can become part of the family and
enjoy the friendship and hospitality for which New Zealand
people are known.
Homestay accommodation includes your own room, breakfast
and evening meals on weekdays and all meals at weekends
and Public Holidays.
Homestay Coordinator
Theresa Finlayson is the Homestay Coordinator. She is
responsible for overseeing the selection of homestay
families and student placements. Theresa, an experienced
counsellor, joined AUT International House in 2001.
Airport Transfer
Students who request homestay accommodation will be met at
Auckland International Airport by a representative from
AUT International House and will be transferred to their
homestay. There is no charge for this service. A free
transfer from the homestay to the airport is also provided
at the end of a student's course.
